Not a fan of Mr. Claus :(

Before seeing Santa Claus.....We took Jack to see Santa today. We were going to take him to the mall a couple of days ago, but plan A didn't work out for us. I was told that Santa would be at The Avenues every Wed. from 3-7 p.m & that we can take our own pictures with our own camera. It's a much better deal than feeling pressured into buying one of the overpriced pictures from the mall. I am so glad we didn't end up spending a fortune on Santa pictures. Let's just say, Jack wasn't a fan of the overweight, bearded, jolly man. There was actual sheer terror in his eyes & tears flowed from those eyes!

Ha ha ha, Merry Christmas :)

Cutest Baby Contest

Yep, I entered Jack into another CUTEST BABY CONTEST, because I think he IS the cutest baby in the world! Please go to http://www.blackdressredwagon.com/ to vote for my little man. You can vote as many times as you'd like between now & Dec. 31st. The winner will receive a photo session with a professional photographer, a $100 gift certificate to the Pink Crocodile (Children's Boutique) and 4 tickets to the GA Aquarium. So much to be thankful for!

Oh my goodness, what a year it's been!!!! I have to go through the many blessings in my life using bullet points, because I have so many to list!!!
  • My husband~he is the most thoughtful, caring, & compassionate man I have ever met, & I thank my lucky stars each & every day that he chose me to spend the rest of his life with. Girls everywhere should be jealous!!!
  • My son~I have always dreamed of being a mother; yet another reason I love my hubby so much! I am a mommy to the best kid in the world. He's gentle, sweet, smart & funny (just like his daddy). He waves at me in the morning when I get him out of bed & he claps for me when I'm singing (out of tune). He gives the sloppiest kisses & the best hugs. He can light up a room & he he lights up my life. I was definitely put here on here on Earth to be his mommy & I am loving every single second of every single day.
  • Chemotherapy~what a funny thing to be thankful for, huh? I wish this wasn't on my list or in my vocabulary at all, but in reality, it has become a part of my life. When my dad was diagnosed with colon cancer in January, my heart broke! Such a scary road to go down; not knowing what side effects would take place, or if it would even work. When he finished his 6 months of chemo in September & his scan came back clear, a huge weight had been lifted off our shoulders. Hallelujah!!!!
  • My parents~Having a hubby that travels for work can get hard sometimes but knowing that my mom & dad are right around the corner makes it so much easier! I often find myself going over there for dinner, or to spend the night, just so we don't have to be alone. The company is nice & the food is great :) Jack gets some great quality time with Nana, Papa & Uncle Drew I get to relax a little bit. Thank you Mom & Dad for always having an open door!
  • My nephew~Brad & Michele welcomed Maxwell Bradley Bomar into this world on June 26th, 2009 and he has brought so much joy into our lives. I have no doubt in my mind that he & Jack will grow up to become best friends. I love that little guy so much!!!!
  • My successful surgery~I went to the OB/GYN in October for my yearly visit, but it wasn't as routine as it had always been. There were some abnormal cells that were detected on my cervix & on Nov. 11th, I had surgery to remove them. Thankfully, when the pathology reports came back a week later they showed no signs of precancer or cancer cells. Praise God!!!!!
  • My neighbors~I have the BEST neighbors who are also my friends!!!! I have only lived in this neighborhood for a little over a year and yet I've found life long friends in these girls. We get together to watch The Bachelor/Bachelorette (so much fun!!!), have neighbor dinners, go on walks, have playgrouups with the kiddos, Bunko, Veils & Vino.....we just have fun!!!! Knowing that my kids & their kids are going to grow up together makes me so excited. To have a support system right around the corner, especially when Richard is out of town, is so important to me & I thank God for these girls each & every day!
  • Girls Weekend~Every year, with the exception of the crazy one we all had last year, a group of my girlfriends (most from high school) gets together for a weekend...no husbands, no babies...just girls & lots of wine! I will forever treasure these weekends, as they are an excuse to relax, unwind & have dance parties!
  • 25 years of friendship~ My best friend Katie & I have been friends now for 25 years!!! Holy cow!!!! We met when we were 3 years old, in preschool, and we've remained BFF through all of lifes obstacles. We had a chance to meet in Charlotte, NC in September for a weekend & we had a blast! Just hanging out with her, talking & laughing made me realize just how much she means to me & how I wish we lived closer!

Those are just a few of the things I am thankful for. The list could go on for miles. When I think of what I would change about my life, or what could make it better, I think of the blessings that I just listed, and those "things" go away. I need nothing more than what I have in my life right now! I have a loving & supportive family. I have friends who have stood by my side through a lot of rough times in my life. I have new friends who I have made forever memories with. I have my health!! This is something people take for granted, and I never will!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by family & friends!

Christmas Pictures :)

I'm just going to start with the most recent event & I'll fill in the gaps when I have time. We went to Portrait Innovations on Monday, November 30th to have our Christmas pictures taken. My friend Karen too some gorgeous pictures of my family a couple of months ago that we were going to use, but I really wanted a picture on our Christmas card that looked Christmassy (I know it's not a word, & if it is, I'm sure that's not how it's spelled). They really try to get you to spend a bazillion dollars on pictures, but if we did that, then Santa couldn't afford to come to our house with lots of presents! So, we managed to walk out with 2.......yes, only 2 different poses!!!! The fact that it was Jack's nap time & that he has had a runny nose & cough all week really helped the narrowing down process. Usually out of the 60-80 pics they take, about 75 of them are good enough to frame!!!
So here they are............ta da..........Merry Christmas!!(15 months old & looking quite dapper in his argile vest!)

(I never dreamed that my family would be this beautiful. I'm blessed with an incredibly handsome hubby & an oh my goodness adorable baby boy.)

Pictures at Kennesaw Mountain

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of having our sweet neighbor/friend take some pictures of us at Kennesaw Mountain. Oh yea, she happens to be a professional photographer as well :) I think we got some great shots even though the weather wasn't great that morning (very humid & sprinkling rain). Enjoy~
Thanks Karen! You have such an awesome talent & we appreciate you taking the time to photograph our family! www.karenbakerphotography.com

Fun at the park!

Yesterday Elisabeth & I took the kids to the playground at Seven Hills (shhhh, don't tell anyone). Apparently it's only for the residents of the neighbor but we broke the rules & came to play :) Jack & Molly had a great time, even though Miss Molly wasn't a huge fan of the prickly grass. Jack on the other hand could care less! He loved walking around & exploring the world around him. Once I set him down, he just took off. He even walked up hill, which was quite impressive since he's only been walking for 3 weeks. I wasn't aware that his balance was that good :) He sure did show off. Jack really liked the swings but I think the slide was his favorite. He slid down atleast 7 or 8 times (with me holding his hands of course). I would do it all day long just so I could see that big smile on his face!
